Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-22

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected when you visit idenplane.com (the "Site"). idenplane.com is a static marketing and documentation site — it does not have user accounts, comments, or any user-generated content. The Idenplane software that you self-host on your own infrastructure is a separate system and is not covered by this policy.

2. What We Collect

Server access logs

Our hosting provider, DigitalOcean, records standard HTTP access information when you visit any page: IP address, user-agent string, referrer header, request path, and timestamp. These logs are used to operate the Site and detect abuse. We do not aggregate or analyze these logs ourselves and they are retained according to DigitalOcean's policy.

Google Analytics

The Site uses Google Analytics (measurement ID G-9S7NDB1GET) to understand which pages and features people use. Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends a request to Google's servers on each page view. The data we receive in our analytics dashboard is aggregated — we see things like "147 visits to /docs/api yesterday," not individual identities. Google may process this data in the United States. See Google's privacy policy for details on what they collect.

Local browser storage

The Site uses your browser's localStorage to remember your theme preference (light/dark) and sessionStorage to briefly cache the GitHub star count so we don't re-fetch it on every page. Neither is sent to our servers; both stay in your browser.

3. What We Don't Collect

We do not run a user-account system, mailing list, comment system, or contact form on the Site. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifying information from visitors. We do not sell, rent, or share visit data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Third Parties

Following links on the Site takes you to services we do not operate, each with its own privacy policy:
  • GitHub — for repository, issues, discussions, sponsors.
  • npm — for JavaScript SDK downloads.
  • Docker Hub — for container images.
  • Google Fonts — the Site loads Inter and JetBrains Mono from Google's font CDN; Google logs the IP of each font request.
The Site fetches a few small pieces of public data directly from GitHub when you load a page (the star count on the navbar). That request goes from your browser to GitHub, not through us.

5. Cookies

The Site itself does not set any first-party cookies. Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies (typically _ga, _ga_*) for the purposes described above. You can block these by using your browser's built-in tracking-protection features, by using an extension like uBlock Origin, or by enabling Global Privacy Control / "Do Not Track" — most ad-blockers will block Google Analytics by default and the Site continues to work fully without it.

6. Your Rights

Because we do not keep an account or profile for you, we have nothing to look up, export, or delete on your behalf. You can:
  • Clear cookies and local/session storage at any time from your browser settings.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics by installing the official opt-out browser add-on.
  • Block third-party requests entirely with a browser-level content blocker — the Site is designed to work without them.
If you have a specific privacy question or request that relates to data we may hold about you (e.g. an email exchange you initiated with us), contact [email protected] and we will respond.

7. Children

The Site is a developer tool documentation site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. International Transfers

The Site is hosted on DigitalOcean's global infrastructure and Google Analytics processes data on servers operated by Google LLC, which may be located in the United States or elsewhere. If you visit from outside the United States, your visit information may be transferred to and processed in countries that have different data protection rules than your home country.

9. Changes to This Policy

Significant changes to this policy will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date below and, for material changes, an announcement via the project's GitHub Releases. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.

10. Contact
